What this means for you
A volume price is fair — you pay for the space you use, not a flat fee that punishes small loads. The catch is timing: you book a visit, wait for the window, and only then hear the number. If it is higher than you hoped, you have already spent the morning on it.

That is 16 bids so far, and the ledger is small on purpose — every figure here is a real quote from a real company on a real job, not a survey.
The furniture job is the one worth staring at: the highest bid was more than five times the lowest, on the same items, in the same city, in the same week. A customer who books one on-site estimate sees a single point on that line and has no way of knowing which one. The mattress job went the other way — four bids inside 15% of each other. Neither pattern is a rule, which is exactly why seeing the spread beats guessing at it.
