Trying to get rid of an old mattress in Tulsa, OK? You are not alone — mattresses are one of the hardest household items to dispose of properly.
Most municipal trash services will not take a mattress from the curb because of bulk rules, and leaving one out can bring a fine.

Mattress Disposal in Tulsa: what actually moves the price
62% of Tulsa homes are detached houses, so mattress disposal here is usually a straight drive-up: the truck reaches the driveway and the load never sees a staircase. That is the cheap end of the range on this page.
Drive time is a real line in a Tulsa quote — the city covers 198 square miles — so the truck that is already working near you can come in under one crossing the whole area. Collecting a few bids is how you find out which is which.
Most homes in Tulsa were built around 1972, and the layout of that era decides more about a mattress disposal job than the price list does.

Mattress Disposal in Tulsa: where the city stops and a hauler starts
The free route in Tulsa has hard edges, and they are the reason people end up paying: Remodelling debris only counts if you did the work yourself at the address being served, and it has to be containerised and under one cubic yard in total. There is a limit of four monitors or televisions, four tires without rims, and ten gallons of latex paint. Large yard waste has to be cut under six feet long and under eighteen inches across. Ten dollars per eight cubic yards collected, and another ten for each additional eight cubic yards. The city has published an increase: from October 1, 2026 both figures become twenty dollars.
Past those limits the city is not an option at all — not slower, not pricier, simply unavailable. That is the line a hauler exists for, and it is worth knowing exactly where it sits before you start carrying anything.
Collection in Tulsa is run by City of Tulsa Public Works — Refuse & Recycling. Below is what they will take, straight from their own rules — and where each route runs out.
Is there a free state recycling program?
Not in Oklahoma. Four states — California, Connecticut, Oregon and Rhode Island — fund mattress recycling with a fee collected when a new mattress is sold, which makes drop-off free there. There is no equivalent here, so the city routes above are the free options.
Booked bulky pickup
Large items that do not fit inside your refuse cart, and yard waste too big to bundle for the regular hauler. Remodelling debris only counts if you did the work yourself at the address being served, and it has to be containerised and under one cubic yard in total. There is a limit of four monitors or televisions, four tires without rims, and ten gallons of latex paint. Large yard waste has to be cut under six feet long and under eighteen inches across. Book online — you will need your City utility Customer ID and account number — or call 311, or email the city. Schedule at least three days before your pickup day; orders are worked in the order they arrive, and collection happens on your regular refuse day. Cancelling means calling before noon the day before, otherwise the charge lands on your account anyway. Bulky waste is at the curb by 5 a.m. — not under power lines or trees, not over water meters, gas meters, telephone boxes or cable boxes, not within three feet of a fence or of your carts, and with no vehicle parked in the way. Appliances go out empty, small engines drained of oil and gas, and electronics, appliances and tires are separated from everything else because two different trucks come for them. Anything one person can handle at forty pounds or less belongs in a bagged sticker pickup on the regular route instead, and yard waste tied into four-by-two-foot bundles or see-through bags rides along with regular collection, up to fifteen extra bags or bundles a week.

Why mattress removal costs what it does
Landfill disposal fees keep climbing, and a mattress needs a truck plus at least one pair of hands. Prices still vary a lot between companies, which is exactly why comparing quotes is worth the five minutes.
What changes the price
Size matters — a king costs more to haul than a twin — and so does access. A mattress coming down three flights without an elevator takes longer than one waiting in the driveway.

Mattress Disposal in Tulsa — common questions
How much does mattress disposal cost in Tulsa?
Most people pay $95–$150. That is a national range for mattress disposal, not a quote — your real price comes from local pros bidding on your photos, and it moves with volume, stairs and how far the item has to travel to the truck.
Can I put a mattress out with the trash in Tulsa?
Most municipal services will not take one from the curb under their bulk rules, and an abandoned mattress can bring a fine. Some cities run a paid bulk pickup you have to book weeks ahead; a scheduled removal is normally faster.
Does a king mattress cost more than a twin?
Yes. Size drives both truck space and how many people it takes to move it, so a king sits at the top of the range and a twin near the bottom. A box spring counts as a second item with most pros.
Are mattresses actually recycled?
Often, yes. Steel springs, foam and timber can all be separated and reused, and some states run dedicated mattress recycling programs. Pros take them to a recycler where one is within reach rather than straight to landfill.
How quickly can it be picked up?
It depends on how many pros cover your area. On our first jobs the first quote arrived within one to three days, and we email you the moment one comes in. Once you pick a pro you choose the date and time window; same-day or next-day pickup is possible when a crew has room on the truck.
What does JunkerClub charge me?
Nothing. Posting a job and collecting quotes is free, and you pay your pro directly when the work is done. The pro pays the platform a small fee only when they win the job — it never gets added to your price.
Do I have to carry it outside myself in Tulsa?
No — the crew does the lifting and loading, and that labour is most of what you are paying for. In Tulsa 62% of homes are detached, so most jobs are a driveway carry and the truck can usually get close to the door. The median home here was built around 1972; single-width staircases are common in that stock and lifts are rare. Say which floor it is on and whether there is a lift when you post the job; that is the part that moves the quote. Housing figures are from the U.S. Census Bureau.
What makes a junk removal quote in Tulsa different from the national average?
Access and housing type, mostly. In Tulsa, 62% of homes are detached and the city runs at about 2,099 residents per square mile — most homes here have a driveway a truck can reach, which usually keeps a job at the simpler end. Renters occupy 48% of occupied homes here, which also shapes when the work happens. The prices on this site are national ranges; the number you actually pay comes from local pros bidding on your photos. Housing figures are from the U.S. Census Bureau.
