Phoenix Dump and Drop-Off Fees
What it costs to drop off waste in Phoenix, opening hours, what you need to bring, and what they will turn away.
Before you load the car: every route out of Phoenix compared
Driving it yourself is the only route that costs you a trip. Here is what each of the others asks instead — the cap, the condition, and what simply will not be accepted.
| Route | What it costs | How much it takes | The condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Curbside, regular collection day | — | Ten cubic yards per residence per appointment, and the piles of two households may not be combined — each address has to book its own. | Not collected: loose debris and ordinary household trash, loose grass and clippings, household hazardous waste, materials in Bagster bags, more than two wooden pallets, bricks, concrete, dirt, rocks, asphalt and roofing shingles or tiles, and construction or demolition material over 25 pounds. Tree trimmings have to be under twelve inches thick and four feet long, and grass, leaves and clippings bagged and tied. |
| Booked city collection | Included with regular trash service at no extra charge. | Four collection opportunities a year, and a single pile no larger than ten cubic yards per residence. | All bulk trash. Phoenix moved to appointments, so nothing goes out without one being booked first. |

Booking a city pickup
All bulk trash. Phoenix moved to appointments, so nothing goes out without one being booked first.
- How many items
- Four collection opportunities a year, and a single pile no larger than ten cubic yards per residence.
- How to book
- Book online or on 602-262-6251, as late as three business days ahead. Cancelling at least two business days early keeps the slot off your yearly count; cancelling later does not.
- What it costs
- Included with regular trash service at no extra charge.
- Good to know
- The pile goes within five feet of the street or the front edge of the property, at least five feet clear of any fixed object, and must be in place by 5:30 a.m. on the appointment date. Putting it out more than seven days ahead of the appointment is a violation of city ordinance. The scheduler blocks Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day plus the seven days after each.

Or have someone take it
City routes are cheap but slow, and they all assume you can get the item to the curb yourself. If it is upstairs, if it is heavy, or if you need it gone this week, a local pro is the faster answer.
