Mirrors and table tops have to be wrapped and taped; rolled carpet and padding must be no longer than five feet; wire fencing rolled into secured bundles and wooden fencing cut into five-foot sections. Putting hazardous waste into residential collection is unlawful under Municipal Code 380.209.

Pulling it up versus hauling it away
These are two different prices. If the carpet is already up and rolled, you are paying for a pickup.
