Most published junk removal prices are estimates: a range someone assembled from customer anecdotes, competitor pages or guesswork. These are not estimates. Every number below is a real bid, placed by a vetted hauler on a real customer’s job, without seeing what anyone else had bid.

How the numbers are collected
A customer posts one job with photos, the item list, the floor it is on and whether there is an elevator. Vetted haulers in that area see the same listing and place a bid. They cannot see each other’s bids, and no bid is solicited, edited or filtered by us. The customer then picks one — or none.
That is why the spread is meaningful: it is the same job, the same week, the same access constraints. Nothing about the work changed between the lowest number and the highest one.
What is deliberately not here
- Company names. A bid is that company’s pricing, and they did not agree to publish it to their competitors when they quoted a customer.
- Customer names, addresses and photos. Only the metro area, the job type and the numbers.
- Test listings. Only jobs posted by real customers are counted.
Limitations — read this before citing
This dataset is small: 16 bids across 2 jobs in 2 metro areas. It is enough to show what happens on a single job, and it is not enough to describe a national market. Please do not report these as average junk removal prices — they are the bids on these specific jobs.
The spread also varies by job type, and one of the two jobs here shows that plainly: the furniture job drew a wide range, the mattress job came back as a tight cluster. Neither is the rule.
The dataset grows as jobs are posted, and this page is updated from the same ledger, so figures may change. Cite the verification date shown above.
