What Gets Hauled

Pick a category to see what it costs.

What a quote covers

The price a pro bids is the whole job: the labor to carry it out, the truck, the fuel, and the landfill or recycling fee at the other end. You are not quoted for the item — you are quoted for the space it takes and the work to move it.

That is why access matters more than weight. Stairs, a long carry from the back yard, a sectional that has to come apart, no elevator in the building — each of those adds time, and time is what you are paying for. Say so when you post and the bids come back accurate instead of getting revised on the day.

What nobody can legally take

Paint, motor oil, solvents, pesticides, asbestos and medical waste are hazardous waste. No junk removal company can put them in a normal truck, and a company that says it will is one to avoid. Your city almost certainly runs a household hazardous waste drop-off — that is the route.

Tires, car batteries and propane tanks sit in between: some pros take them for an extra fee, some will not. Ask before you book rather than on the day.

Where it ends up

Anything still usable should be donated before it is dumped, and most metal is worth money at a scrap yard rather than nothing at a landfill.

4 states — California, Connecticut, Oregon and Rhode Island — run mattress recycling programs you already paid into when you bought the mattress, so recycling the old one costs nothing extra.

FAQ

Junk removal services — common questions

Do you take everything?

Almost. Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, yard waste, construction debris, hot tubs and whole-property cleanouts all get taken. Hazardous waste — paint, oil, chemicals, asbestos, medical — cannot go in a normal truck by law.

Do I need to move things to the curb?

No. Pros carry it out from wherever it is — upstairs, the back yard, an attic. Mention the access when you post so the bid accounts for it.

How fast can it happen?

Bids usually come back within hours. Same-day is often possible if a pro is already working nearby, because the trip costs them very little.

What does JunkerClub charge me?

Nothing. Posting is free and you pay your pro directly for the job — there is no platform markup on the price you agree.
